The practice

Technology decisions are expensive to make and more expensive to unmake. SureSoft® evaluates the things those decisions rest on — the code, the architecture, the candidate platforms, the true costs — and reports what the evidence says, whether or not it is what anyone hoped to hear. We are vendor-neutral: the recommendation serves your workload, not a reseller margin.

The same evaluation lens turns inward, too. In engagements with object-oriented codebases, we have cut as much as seventy percent of the lines of code while delivering more functionality, greater stability, better performance — and the test automation to prove all three. Fewer lines, doing more, is a recurring result of evaluating code the way we do.

Underneath every engagement runs the same discipline: DevOps done correctly. The judgment

AI can assist an evaluation. It cannot own one.

Some of our competitors run their evaluations through AI agents, and the agents are impressive — we use them ourselves where they help. But an evaluation hinges on understanding what the business is actually trying to accomplish, and that understanding lives outside the codebase: in conversations, constraints, and history an agent cannot see. Agents get misled; core purposes get missed.

That difference shows most in architectural reviews, and often in code evaluation: side by side with AI-proposed approaches, our recommendations have repeatedly proved more creative and more sound — because they answer the business, not the prompt. The standard for an evaluation is not what a model prefers. It is what the evidence and the business require.

Code Audit — Software Vendor

A two-week audit that won the contract — and lasted for years

A software vendor's product began dropping connections at random once a system passed roughly five hundred of them — sometimes fewer, sometimes more. Most customers never ran above two or three hundred connections, so the failure was rare and nearly impossible to track. But the vendor was pursuing a contract with a national institution whose much larger user community exposed the problem in full. SureSoft's audit found the root cause — incorrect memory management writing to previously used addresses — and our fixes closed it. The vendor won the contract, and the product's overall performance and stability rose with it. The audit took a couple of weeks. The benefits lasted for years.
